S.L.Y.M - St. Leo’s Youth Ministry
St. Leo’s Youth Ministry is open to all 8th grade and high school age teens.
S.L.Y.M (as we call it) is an opportunity to play together and pray together. Here the teens have the chance to participate in local and national leadership events as well as diocesan and parish retreats. The weekly meetings are led by the kids, for the kids and with the kids. The topics are relevant and interesting. Attendance at the weekly meetings are part of the Confirmation requirements. Confirmation candidates will also meet on additional Sundays from January to May.
Each year, the teens are able to perform community service, take part in liturgies and assist with the Thanksgiving Basket Give-away as well as many other parish events. Two of the highlights of S.L.Y.M are attending L.A. Youth day, (& Disneyland) and the National Catholic Youth Conference every two years where they join with over 28,000 other Catholic teens to celebrate God’s word.
