To receive the Sacrament of Confirmation teens, grades 8th – 12th need to attend the Wednesday youth group meetings, 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. (starting in October) or the Thursday Jr. High meetings, 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. (More information for Jr. High Youth Group look in that tab.)

Candidates need to be baptized, have received their First Communion and their families need to be registered parishioners of St. Leo’s.  A Parent/Teen information meeting will be held in January.  Please see the Youth Ministry Calendar under this tab for dates and times.

We are planning on having face to face in person meetings this year.  Due to the current Covid restrictions, we are limiting our class size to 15 teens and the meetings will be an hour from 7 – 8:00pm. Please be advised that these conditions can change if the Covid levels rise. 

Our first meeting will be on Wednesday, October 6^th, HOWEVER IT WILL BE HELD VIRTUALLY.  This meeting will ensure you are all familiar with our virtual site and how to sign in to our google classroom.  In the future, you will be printing out forms and assignments from that classroom site.  That meeting will still be from 7 – 8:00 p.m. More info about Confirmation will be give out at that time.

Wednesday, October 13^th will be our first in person meeting at Hunt Hall.

The Sacrament of Confirmation is conferred by the Bishop in the spring. Each year besides the weekly meetings, the teens perform community service, plan and attend retreats, as well as learn how to live their faith. SLYM is a participant in various parish & community events. Two highlight events are: Attending LA Youth Day and the National Catholic Youth Conference (NCYC - held every 2 years).  At NCYC, the teens join with 28,000 other Catholic teens to celebrate God’s word.
