Parish Welcoming Prayer
Eternal God,
in ancient times,
hospitality protected the traveler
from the many dangers of traveling alone.
So too, are we traveling toward You,
O most beloved one,
and we are often too much alone
and in danger of losing our way.
Help us open our doors and our hearts
to welcome each other
and those strangers You might send us unawares,
so that together
we may become a light to each other and to the world
about the wonder of You
and the wonder of your creation.
We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.
