St. Leo’s Youth Ministry & Confirmation

St. Leo’s Youth Ministry is open to all high school age teens. We meet Wednesday evenings from 7-8:30 pm.

S.L.Y.M (as we call it) is an opportunity to play together and pray together. Here the teens have the chance to participate in local and national leadership events as well as diocesan and parish retreats. The weekly meetings are led by the kids, for the kids and with the kids. The topics are relevant and interesting. Attendance at the weekly meetings are part of the Confirmation requirements. Confirmation candidates will also meet on additional Sundays from January to May. Each year, the teens are able to perform community service, take part in liturgies and lead our “Interactive Stations” during Lent. SLYM is also a participant in various parish and community events such as decorating a SLYM float for the 4th of July parade and hosting Camp Little Leo. Two of the highlights of S.L.Y.M are attending L.A. Youth day, (& Disneyland) and the National Catholic Youth Conference every two years where they join with over 28,000 other Catholic teens to celebrate God’s word.
